Preparation is essential for a child custody case in North Carolina and NC Child Support Laws. The secret is to be prepared. This not only protects you from common hurdles; it also demonstrates your commitment to your child before a court.

Lawyer consultations are the most effective way to ensure you have all the mandatory proof and data to begin a custody battle. I cannot say it enough - being prepared will always decide the end result in most cases. Nevertheless these are some helpful tips about North Carolina laws that all mums and dads should know:

The divorce or break of an once satisfactory relationship doesn't end parental responsibility although this could be common since it isn't in the majority of cases. Sadly the children becomes a pawn in the war of the parents. Besides the emotional support, each parent is responsible for monetary care in the form of child support. When delinquent parents don't pay their proper share guess who gets stuck with the bill? We do... Trust me when I say the cost to society goes beyond that of their kids.

According to a statement from the Office of Child Support Enforcement over $100 bn. was owed in back child support payments. It wasn't a gigantic surprise to discover that their report disclosed that the majority of custodial parents were women. For those women that were classified as the poor, roughly 45 percent of their revenue comes from child support payments.

Sadly delinquent payments have contributed to the outstanding number of single mothers living far below the poverty level. If by chance these mothers happen to go on public help so as to support their families, the non-custodial parent is required to reimburse the government for the care of their kids. When payments aren't made, it leads to over $50 billion in money owed to the governing body. This income that is in most cases forever is dumped onto the taxpayers of the United States of America.
